Taurus and Gemini – Astrology Forecast for May 2025

2025 is an unsettled (and unsettling) year, as we just start to get used to Pluto’s twenty year stay in Aquarius, sample Saturn and Neptune in Aries, and get a taste of Uranus in Gemini. This is not a year when we are going to see ultimate results, rather it’s a time to navigate towards better outcomes. The dice are tumbling, but haven’t yet shown their numbers.

The intensity that began this year calms down in May – at least after mid-month. 2025 began with many charged aspects, eclipses, and significant changes. Yet the powerhouse cosmic vibe was also put in check by retrogrades of Mars, Venus, and Mercury, each of which served to slow progress, build frustration, and give the sense of things being out of control on both the collective and personal levels.

May has its share of powerful cosmic events, yet also has stretches that should allow us at least a little breathing room.

We begin with Pluto’s station to retrograde on May 4th – and “may the fourth be with you.” Pluto is retrograde for almost half the year, so his retrograde isn’t especially noticeable. On the other hand, the actual stations of Pluto are quite obvious. Power struggles at all levels are possible, and everyone is feeling the need to get things done their own way. From the 2nd through the 5th, give others the space they need, and take some for yourself. Keep an eye on who has the power at the collective level, too – with Pluto in Aquarius, leaders of all kinds are answering to the public.

The next round of intensity happens at the Scorpio Full Moon on the 12th. This full moon is a double dose of cutting energy, and often brings up repressed or suppressed emotions. To add fuel to the fire, Mercury is square to Pluto at the same time, a strong indication that words will pack power. It’s a great time to say what you really mean – but be sure you really mean it, because it will be hard to get the genie back in the bottle with this level of celestial intensity.

On the 17th, the Sun meets with Uranus. This is a time when it’s best to do your own thing and let others do theirs’. Go your own way, follow your passion (or inclination), and enjoy your independence: just don’t expect others to take your trip when they’d rather take their own.

The Sun enters Gemini on the 20th, beginning the last month of springtime (in the Northern Hemisphere) and moving us closer to the Cancer Solstice.

The big event of May is Saturn’s ingress into Aries, which is exact on the 24th. Saturn was last in the sign of the ram from 1996 to 1999, and while we can’t expect a replay, some similar themes may emerge over the next three years. Saturn in Aries demands that we each provide our own sense of authority and autonomy, while at the same time limiting the independence of those in authority.

The Gemini New Moon is on the 26th. This is relatively quiet time of the month, but still good for socializing with neighbors and your local community.
