This November, Mercury, the Cosmic Messenger, is the star of the show. He’s retrograding from the 9th through the 29th, and he’ll be quite active during his time in reverse gear. Matters that started back in late October are up for review, although it may be mid-December before we see actual resolution to Mercurial mishaps. Remember that things tend to go wonky right around the stations, so be extra careful from the 7th through the 9th and the 28th through the 30th.
Mercury’s stations are especially busy this year, as his retrograde on the 9th is followed by Jupiter’s station to retrograde on the 11th. Think of this as a time of high energy and enthusiasm, but perhaps with a little less than adequate reality-testing. In general, it’s an upbeat and optimistic time, but don’t plan on having plans work out as planned (if you take my meaning).
Mercury stations direct on the 29th, just two days after Saturn stations to go direct on the 27th. This period of time is likely to have a heavier vibe, and Mercurial delays might be augmented by Saturnian hesitations. It’s likely to be a fairly serious Thanksgiving in the U.S., and holiday travel could really be a challenge.
The month starts off with some charged energy, with Venus square Jupiter on the 2nd. While technically a tense aspect, these two planets get along very well together, and all the more so with Venus in her home sign of Libra and Jupiter in his exaltation in Cancer. “Too much of a good thing” is the only real caveat with this aspect in place.
The Taurus Full Moon on the 5th also helps to color the beginning of the month, adding energy to the first weekend and week of November.
After Venus wades into the dark waters of Scorpio on the 6th, she squares Pluto in Aquarius on the 7th. Venus is holding tight to deep personal connections, while Pluto is advocating for the bigger picture.
Uranus retrogrades back into Taurus on the 7th. From this point until late April, we’ll be revisiting the themes of Uranus in Taurus, which began back in 2018. Things to watch include cryptocurrencies, the food supply, and bio-tech innovations (not so much AI, which is more Pluto in Aquarius and Uranus in Gemini).
Mercury opposes Uranus on the 19th, an aspect that often means brilliant insights and new ideas. As he’s retrograde, Mercury may be reminding us of something that began around October 29th… but it could take until the pair oppose each other again on December 10th for the final version to be ready.
The Scorpio New Moon on the 20th should be a time of introspection and reflection, but the Sun’s opposition to Uranus just a day later suggests that we’ll be more inclined to act than usual for this low-energy time of the lunar cycle. Sol floats into Sagittarius on the same day, the 21st, moving on from whatever he and Uranus cooked up.
Venus, planet of love and relationship, is very busy in the last week of the month, making connections with Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune from late Scorpio, before skipping into Sagittarius on the 30th. The time between the 25th and the 30th holds potential for remaking relationships, especially those that are under stress. Just be sure that the messages you’re sending and receiving are clear of Mercurial confusion.
